Robert Harrap, Director of Buddhist organisation SGI-UK, gave a talk on Tuesday 1st December in an online event hosted by members in Cornwall. The talk introduced this year’s peace proposal written to the United Nations by Buddhist leader Daisaku Ikeda, who has since 1983 used these annual statements to urge steps towards nuclear weapons disarmament. This year’s proposal is called ‘Toward Our Shared Future: Constructing an Era of Human Solidarity’ and the text can be found here. Student leader Sanya Rajpal also spoke about the Sustainable Development Goals and what they mean for us as individuals.
