Co-operative Bank logo

The Co-operative bank provide commercial and personal banking services, and have a customer-led ethical policy. Read more about their published ethical investment policy here.

The Co-operative Bank is the only financial institution in our survey to prohibit business with any nuclear weapons producing company.

The Co-operative Bank excludes all dealings with nuclear weapons and nuclear weapons-producing companies. But their policy isn’t totally clear on their website, and it would be great if the bank could make their comprehensive policy more visible for potential and current customers. They might also engage with other financial institutions and lawmakers on ethical matters, leading by example.

Want the Co-operative Bank to go further still? Get in contact with them to tell them you want them to be more transparent and engage with other institutions to make this policy standard.
